I've been reading "Jeffrey Zeldmann's":http://www.zeldman.com "Designing With Web Standards":http://www.amazon.de/exec/obidos/ASIN/0735712018/, a very well written and at times very amusing book. The first few chapters concentrate on the _why_ we ought to use Web standards; a must read for any manager or any person who is going to comission web work of any kind, from the small one-page whatnot to the multi-thousand-Euro web site. And a must for any web designer as well.
