No Heating

It is cold in the house. When I finally noticed at about 8:00 PM I called our friendly plumber who immediately drove out to see us (it helps a great deal when you pay your bills on time; people tend to be more willing to help).

After take the cowling off the heating and checking all sorts of things, the guy asks me if we have enough fuel in the tanks.

Oops :-(

Note to self: first thing tomorrow morning, oder 6000 litres of oil.

Perhaps that sort of thing runs in the family. We started to get cold also, last winter, and when the friendly plumber came (I pay his bills – in cash, an added stimulant) he told me I had inadvertently flicked a little switch on top of the oil tank, that cuts of the flow of oil to the burner. Because I keep part of my supply of BOXES up there, and one of them shifted too far to the left. There is now a big warning sign (warming sign) on the switch.
