Gallery2
I've finally installed a copy of Gallery2 on my server so that my s.o. can also access our photos, which I've been keeping in Apple's iPhoto on the Mac.
The export is quite painless, thanks to iPhotoToGallery, an iPhoto plugin that exports images to a Gallery installation. Well, painless, except for the small memory leak in either iPhoto or in ip2g: after exporting a few hundred images, iPhoto is using over 1.5GB of RAM … and counting!

Wow – I'm sure it's a leak in iPhotoToGallery. Does the memory usage go down after the export is done? (I'm the developer, btw)

No, it doesn't. After launching iPhoto, memory climbs quite quickly (can be seen while each photo is uploaded), until the system starts thrashing (I have a mini with 1GB). That is reached after about 500 photos. When the export completes memory consumption remains.
On another note (and since you are the developer
), I tried to export a different set of photos and after about 250 ip2g stops with a message like "upload failed" (ip2g's window remains open). Can I get some indication as to why it failed? Other sets of photos upload w/o any problem (apart from the RAM issue).

The "upload failed" usually happens when Gallery didn't like the uploaded image, for some reason or another. Right now that causes the plugin to give up, when really it should continue uploading the rest.
I'll see if I can track down that leak…
