The Postman Rang Once
The postman rang once this morning and delivered a nondescript looking package, which I first put aside. Its contents later on revealed my new phone with its corresponding SIM card.
Because I'm moving from one provider to another I'd ordered a Rufnummernportierung which allows me to keep my mobile phone number. In spite of the additional EUR 25 that it costs, that first provider refuses to let go of the number until the contract ends. It isn't a question of me not wanting to pay my dues until the end; I'm fully prepared to do so, but I have reasons to want that number on the new contract.
Nothing doing. I have to wait until December 1st.

They want to get their multi-billion Euro investments back, crumb by crumb. I'm still wondering if they will.
