When I was a kid, we used to get salt for cooking by swiping it from the salinas. Christoph has just posted a photo which might very well have been taken just there. Brings back memories.

I'm seeing him in two weeks and I'll ask him then.

    Culinary suggestion:
    If you drive a herd of cattle into that pile, you can prepare some scrumptious boeuf gros-sel.
