Mr. Clark is Out of the Office
29-Nov-06
From my inbox:

I've blurred out the chap's email address a bit, because the Exim mailing list archives do so as well.
I find it astonishing that somebody who is savvy enough to lurk around on the Exim mailing lists, doesn't know how to properly configure his Out Of Office (OOO) agent.
A simple checkbox suffices to avoid useless and bothersome chatter on mailing lists, disables such idiotic messages to be delivered to thousands of users, and it also avoids collateral spam.

I wish that'd be the Lotus Notes default setting!

Perl/Linux
27-Nov-06
Perl/Linux is a distribution where all programs (except for the Linux kernel and Perl itself) are written in Perl.
That reminds me of the "crazy" project of writing a Web server in PostScript.

The machine that spoke to me when I called the American Embassy in Frankfurt over an expensive 0900 number, promised to connect me to a human within 60 seconds. After blabbering at me for just over five minutes, the voice informed me that no line was available and requested I call back later. Total charge to my telephone bill: EUR 11.16
Thank you very much. It was a tremendous pleasure doing business with you.

Russian Tunnel

Footage by the camera in the Lefortovo tunnel in Russia in one single day. The tunnel passes underneath a river and there are leaks that freeze up in winter…
Thanks, Nic!
