As a matter of curiosity, it occurs to me to record how many hits Google brings up now for the search string "alternative DNS servers".

Will that number increase dramatically a few months after my book has been published, I wonder?

Well, Google's results are dynamic, aren't they? Perhaps you use google.de? I tend to set up google.com (by once going to google.com/ncr [no country redirect]). Perhaps that explains the diff.

Yes, I am using google.de.
After going to the ncr site your blog post is on 1st place and I get 5.020 results. So this might be some google internal dynamic stuff we don't know about.
But know I shut up so you can finish the book
