UIT Cambridge has quietly opened my book's Web site, where you'll find a full table of contents, the per chapter examples, and some other goodies.

If you haven't yet got a copy, you should get one — I hear the book is pretty good.

We were invited to dine on HMS Belfast.

She is moored very near London Bridge, actually directly to the left of where I'm standing taking this picture.

Today, the ship is a museum.

Unfortunately, we couldn't tour the ship — just had a few shots going to and from the dinner.

IBM's TSM restore is great: look at how it screws up inode attributes upon a restore:
$ ls -l filename
—S–sr-x 1 1292 301989983 3192698120 Apr 23 1978 filename

The file permissions are borked.
The file's uid and gid are horribly overborked.
The restore time is underborked.

About the only correct thing is the file size. And its content. [...]
