A red oil indicator light made me take my car to the workshop on Saturday. Oil level was ok, but it was leaking oil onto our driveway. Our friendly car dealer saw to it immediately and said it was a bust oil pressure switch. Knowing little to nothing
at all about cars, I raised my eyebrows appreciatively and inquired how long it would take to repair. To cut a long story short, I was given an ersatz car and drove home to tell the story.
This evening, when I fetched my little girl from school in the missus' car, something was rattling. I wondered out loud what it may be, and guess what my seven year-old replied: "It must be the oil pressure switch", and she grinned.
It took me a while to stop laughing.
All I want for Christmas is a lot of free time, which my family have graciously agreed to give me. I've set myself a deadline. I already have four hundred, and there will be about five hundred, give or take.
Have I piqued your curiosity?
Last Thursday marked the anniversary on which the missus and I got hitched ten years ago. To celebrate the occasion, we had a marvelous dinner and a very good bottle of Rioja at the La Vie in Osnabrück.
If you are ever in the area and want to enjoy un repas très soigné (∗∗) in beautiful surroundings and excellent service, we warmly recommend the La Vie.
After returning from Dublin, I was surprised to hear my Ladies singing a song about a Molly Malone, which I'd never before heard. It appears they heard it from a bus driver in the city of Dublin. A few seconds of research gives me the answer.
Two more stanzas were added to the song by an American parodist in the 1960's, which are probably not included in the dozens of versions of the song that iTunes has to offer.
As the missus is away, I had the undiluted pleasure of accompanying my daughter to a musical today.

That wasn't the kind of show I'd choose for myself, but the little girl was delighted (as well as the other 800 little girls were I suppose). She enjoyed the end of the musical best, as the kids ran to the stage, and my daughter got closest to the princess.
It is a bit depressing to be beaten by a six-year-old at this game.
