Chambre d'hôtes

In the course of the last 18 months my father has turned part of their 18th century patio-level cellier into a modern little apartment.

It was a lot of fun doing it. They are now making it available to paying guests at the rate of EUR 75 per day, minimum stay 3 days, for two people. This includes consumption of water and electricity, linen, towels, central heating. They shall depend a lot on "word of mouth" and if you should know any one interested in staying here, they would be grateful for your recommendation.

From the attached photos you can get an idea of the accommodation (click on the photos to get a larger image).

Patio view

On the photo above, one can see the archway entrance, independent of the main house; the outside table, chairs and parasol are for the exclusive use of the guests.

Andlau is on the "Route des Vins d'Alsace", about 30 km. south of Strasbourg, 5 km. from the (free) autoroute Strasbourg – Colmar – Mulhouse – Bâle. It is a small town of 1750 inhabitants with many picturesque houses, an ancient abbey and vineyards all around. Many marked walking tracks lead to different directions.

The town has a good baker, a butcher, a news agent, a pharmacy and a general store within a few minutes walk from here, as well as half a dozen restaurants and numerous wine-growers (Andlau produces 3 grands crus). The picturesque Andlau-river flows just behind the house.
